Union Station is the largest railroad passenger terminal in the Western United States. Serving more than 60,000 passengers a day, the station is the region’s primary transit hub, connecting Southern California counties and providing access to Amtrak long distance trains, Amtrak California regional trains, Metrolink commuter trains, Metro Rail subway and light rail lines, plus bus service from Metro and other municipal operators. Greyhound’s Bolt service, Megabus, and the LAX Flyaway also operate from the station.
In 2014 Los Angeles Union Station was retrofit with new LED and LCD panels to display regional train arrivals and departures. LA Metro desired to have the signs ready by the 75th anniversary event.
Enabled Consultants developed the front end and backend software for display of train schedules for Metrolink trains, Amtrak trains, and Amtrak buses at LA Union Station.
Working under the extremely aggressive deadline, Enabled Consultants was able to successfully deliver a solution to provide CIS functionality at LAUS in time for the event.
