Custom High-Capacity Network for Video and Security Data – Los Angeles Region

Enabled Consultants served as the lead network architect for Metrolink’s regional Security Data Network (SDN), developed to support a major expansion of the agency’s video surveillance capabilities. With the existing infrastructure unable to meet the anticipated bandwidth needs, our team designed a high-performance network tailored for future scalability and real-time communication.

The solution included expansion of the physical fiber plant, deployment of DWDM (dense wavelength division multiplexing) to multiply capacity, and implementation of CE 2.0-compliant Ethernet switches to enhance resiliency and routing flexibility. The SDN now serves as the backbone for Metrolink’s video, voice, and data transmission across its Southern California service area.
