Customer Information Service (CIS) Application Development EIDANS™

Project Description

Metrolink is governed by the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA), a joint powers authority that was formed in 1991 and comprises five county agencies. Metrolink operates 59 stations and facilitates 44,000 daily boardings, all over a 536 route-mile network.

Building upon the success of the LA Union Station Customer Information System development, Metrolink asked Enabled Consultants to expand the system to provide service to all 59 stations.

The EIDANS™ (Electronic Information Display, Announcement, and Notification System) provides schedule and arrival/departure information to passengers at all Metrolink stations. Audio/visual alerts and messaging are provided according to scheduled or ad hoc message requests. Integration with Amtrak web services provide for real time updates to schedule changes.

Enabled Consultants developed the EIDANS™ software for display of train schedules and messaging for Metrolink trains, Amtrak trains, and Amtrak buses.
